Red Oak Dai Block with Premium Oimasame Straight Grain. Dai block was cracked when I bought it, and it is still cracked, it had the bolt in it when I got it. I have had several planes with this makers mark, and they appear to have been made in the 1940s-1950s, some were Wartime. Blade is fairly sharp, but has a small knicks in the edge, they will need to be worked out if using for a finish plane.
The makers marks are very clear, but I have lost my notes on translation. I knew the blacksmith Bonji makers mark, but cannot remember the name at the time of listing this.
I will be liquidating my Japanese hand tools, I have several hundred planes and chisels I will be listing, and some more saws.
