Vintage Antique Stanley No. 3 TYPE 2 (1869-1872) Pre-Lateral Woodworking Plane

"Pre-Lateral Plane" in good condition for it's aged. About 40-50 percent of original japanning with some dark spots, micro pitting, tiny nicks and scratches on sides and bottom of sole as some pitting, tiny nick on wide mouth and scratches, some small dings on one side of base, see photo #10. Iron stamped "STANLEY RULE & LEVER CO" (6-3/4" long x 1-3/4" wide) in good condition.

Chip breaker in good condition, both iron and chip breaker micro pitting, dark spots and scratches with BAILEYS PATENT DEC. 24,1867 stamped into chip breaker. Scratches, micro pitting, darkness and nicks (some tiny nicks on edge) in solid lever cap, number "3" stamped on back. Frog is stamped with number "3" and as tiny nicks and a little pitting with solid brass adjusting nut PATENTED AUG.

Stamped into it, see photo #9. Nicks and chips on beaded front knob, tote handle as old crack repair, both handles have small nicks and scratches from normal wear. Plane as been very lightly cleaned, oiled and waxed, please see pictures.
