The plane was obtained from an estate sale, shows to have been well cared for. The plane was apart of a large private collection. This is a vintage Stanley wood plane, model No 5 1/4, type 19, that I believe was produced from 1948 to 1961.

And on the rear base behind tote is. On the blade lateral lever is STANLEY incised vertical, and stamped on the blade is. STANLEY inside the notched rectangle, and MADE IN USA. The lever cap is the machined key hole style, and. STANLEY in the notched rectangle logo trade. Mark with no background color. The blade depth adjuster knob is brass and is approx. The blade is 7 1/4" long and 1 3/4" wide. The plane is 11 1/2" long, 5 1/2" tall and has a 2 1/8" wide" base. The plane is in super good condition for the era.Wood is solid but has a few rubs and scratches, discoloration. The japanning is near 100% intact - has a few spots that have chipped.
