Antique Leonard Victor Bailey #7 Vintage Old Hand Plane Tool Woodworking Stanley

This early Bailey Victor # 7 size plane is in very nice original condition. Leonard Bailey's "Victor" line planes were produced from 1875 thru 1888 after Leonard Bailey had left Stanley's employ and before he went back to work for them. It was a great design and well received in the marketplace. This nice looking plane has not been fiddled with or cleaned. There is minimal rust with little or no pitting on the body and sole. No cracks, chips or other damage.

The cutter is not proper (Stanley SW Sweetheart) but near full length. There is approx 90%-95% of the original black japanning.

Has the earlier screw cap as well. Owner did stamp his initials on the side in 1924. Also, located inside the front knob is a scroll.

In 1928, the owner of the plane placed this scroll here with his name and year. A very nice example that will be the highlight of any patented plane or antique tool collection.
