Antique Vintage Stanley No. 4 Type 2 (1869-1872) Pre-Lateral Woodworking Plane

About 90 percent of original japanning with some dark spots, micro pitting and light scratches on sides (one long scratch on one side of sole, see photos), bottom of sole with some light pitting and scratches. Iron stamped "STANLEY RULE & LEVER CO" (6-7/8" long x 2" wide) in excellent condition. Chip breaker in excellent condition, both have micro pitting and light scratches with BAILEYS PATENT DEC. 24,1867 stamped into chip breaker.

A few light scratches, micro pitting and nicks (one tiny nick on lower one corner) in solid lever cap and a little pitting and darkness on back, number "4" stamped on back. Frog as a little pitting as in stamped number "4", scratches across the top and a little pitting with solid brass adjusting nut PATENTED AUG. No chips or cracks on rosewood beaded front knob or tote handle, both have small nicks and scratches from normal wear.
