Antique Vintage Stanley No. 4 TYPE 2 (1869-1872) Pre-Lateral Woodworking Plane

About 75-80 percent of original japanning (missing spot behind frog) with some dark spots, micro pitting, tiny nicks and scratches on sides and bottom of sole as some pitting and scratches. Iron stamped "STANLEY RULE & LEVER CO" (6-1/4" long x 2" wide) in great condition. Chip breaker in great condition, both have micro pitting, dark spots and light scratches with BAILEYS PATENT DEC.

24,1867 stamped into chip breaker. A few light scratches, micro pitting, some around keyhole, and nicks in solid lever cap and a little pitting and darkness on back, number "4" stamped on back.

Frog is stamped with number "4" and as scratches, tiny nicks and a little pitting with solid brass adjusting nut PATENTED AUG. No chips or cracks on beaded front knob or tote handle, both have small nicks and scratches from normal wear. Plane as been very lightly cleaned, oiled and waxed, please see pictures.
