This is an exceptional antique wooden plow plane, marked "Sharpless / Cheltenham / 1850", a fine example of 19th-century craftsmanship. Plow (plough) planes were essential tools for cabinetmakers and joiners, used to cut grooves, rabbets, and dados before the advent of modern power tools.

This plane features its original hand-shaped handle, wooden threaded fence arms, turned knobs, brass depth stop, and iron skate.
