Incredible Antique 19th Century Cabinetmaker Carpenter & Woodworking Tool Chest
An incredibly rare antique American Cabinetmakers, woodworkers, and carpenters toolchest. This dates to the late 19th century circa 1880's and is complete with its period tools dating from the post Civil War era thru the 1920's. There are 3 levels of nested trays and compartments packed with tools which are designed to be easily lifted out or slid front to back to access everything within the chest. It measures 38" wide, 25" deep, and 22 high overall. The original maker / owners name will be provided to the lucky winner, and the chest even contains his original antique personalized steel marking stamp / punch which was used on the wooden molding planes.

2 average men cannot lift this chest. There are many early Bailey and Stanley planes including a 4, 5, 6, 130, etc.

Many are even earlier and are not numbered. Many wooden molding planes including beading, hollows and rounds, and coffin; as well as others. A very large "New Langdon" miter box "improved" size 24-2 with a Langdon 28" x 5" back saw. A Richardson Extra rip saw, Henry Disston 14 dovetail saw, and other saws.

All are lightly used and razor sharp. The owner carefully kept them with a protective grease wax coating. You can smell the age.

They probably haven't been used in 80 years. A Stratton Brothers 28 solid Brazilian rosewood level.

Both original horizontal and vertical bubbles still intact and working after 130 years. A very early 14 Brazilian rosewood try square with brass inlay.

A large group of C F Jennings and other augers in sizes from 4/16 up to about 2. 14 graduated Buck Brothers carving and mortise chisels.

And a lot more tools fitted into the various custom compartments. It would probably be best to send the tools in multiple boxes separately from the chest.

I wish I could be more accurate, but this will require a lot of custom packaging which will add to the final weight. Please see the large pictures below the description. All items are custom packaged after the sale when I have a destination address.
