Mahogany and steel infill plane. Here we have another infill plane from the same source as previously listed planes. The provenance of this one is unknown.
It is obviously as is often referred to as a craftsman made plane. Whoever made it obviously preferred the front bun to be similar to Continental planes, It is actually a comfortable shape.
A SORBY iron that is tapered but quite thick at the front has been fitted. The mouth is also relatively tight.
It is a User plane as simple as that. It cannot be denied that these tap and set planes require a bit of patience to set up to take a fine shaving and this plane is no exception. However, when set correctly it will take a fine shaving.Hopefully a user plane but it would good on a collectors shelf. Please, look at the photos carefully as these represent the exact condition of the plane.
