About 95 percent of original japanning with some light pitting (most pitting on one side of sole, see photos), darkness and light scratches on sides and bottom of sole. Sole is 7-1/4" long x 1-3/4" wide. Iron (6-1/2" long x 1-1/2" wide) and chip breaker (with some pitting) are in excellent condition, both have micro pitting and light scratches with BAILEYS PATENT DEC. 24,1867 stamped into chip breaker.
A few light scratches, pitting and nicks in solid back lever cap with a little pitting and darkness on back of cap. Frog as a little pitting, nicks, scratches and darkness, solid brass adjusting nut as a few light scratches, see photos. No chips or cracks on rosewood beaded front knob (hard to see bead and very tiny hairline stress crack near bottom) or tote handle, both have small nicks and scratches from normal wear. Plane as been very lightly cleaned, oiled and waxed, please see pictures for more details.
