RAZOR SHARP vintage unmarked Kent pattern carving axe hatchet bushcraft woodwork

This is an unmarked vintage English Kent pattern 1-pound hatchet head that had some good tough steel, so I had to make it nice again. I polished the edge and sharpened it to 10,000 grit before hanging it on a nice custom made kiln-dried white ash handle treated with a mix of boiled linseed oil.

It's perfectly aligned laterally and vertically with the oval handle, ensuring precision of cut and ease of use. Perfect for carving, timber framing, cutting branches, etc. The grain of the wood is also oriented for optimal durability while the ash's natural flexibility allows for better shock dampening than other handle materials. It's also lighter than other woods traditionally used for handles.

This is a very sharp tool that has the potential to cause severe injuries if not used properly.
