Forged bi metal Japanese steel. With the exception of the 2 larger background removing tools , they are made so the blades can be extended as they become shorter from sharpening.

These will serve for a lifetime of use. I bought these new several years ago from Japan Woodworker. Never got around to using them. They are exactly as new. Note ; The box is warped (was originally but is probably pronounced after being in our dry weather) and has a slight crack in one corner. Unless you intend to give this as a gift the condition of the box should make no difference as there are more practical ways to store the tools. If you have any questions please ask.
