Vintage Axe Craftsman Small Camp Boys Cruiser Hatchet Tool Woodwork Collectible

Craftsman axe has been in a box for decades. I don't know the exact year this axe was made. A small axe is sometimes referred to as a Camp Axe, Boy's Axe or a Cruiser. Length - from end of handle to top of axe head - 10 1/8 or 25.7 cm. Blade width of cutting edge - 2 1/4 or 5.7 cm.

Weight - 9.5 ounces or. Axe head - original greenish gray paint. Craftsman letters - blue (the letters are a little worn).

WRITING ON ONE SIDE OF AXE HEAD. Axe in good solid condition. The handle and axe head have some soiling & scratches. Axe head has some crazing and patina. 2 drops of glue on axe head. Photo 4, the 2 dark spots. Axe balances resting on axe head, photo 3. A tiny nick on the wood, about 1/16" x 1/8" or. This tiny nick is on handle edge, where the wood is lighter in color, about 3 or 7.6 cm from axe head. 2 tiny drops of glue on handle, photo 12. These look like 2 light spots. One about 1 or 2.5 cm from end of handle, the other on the edge of the end of the handle.

When I hold the sharp end of the axe head, I can move the axe head up and down the teeniest-tiny bit. The axe head just barely moves. Still, the axe head is securely attached to the handle, it does not seem like it is going to fall off. The blade is sharp, and appears it can be used to chop wood.

The axe head does not move when I hold the back of the axe head (the end that has Craftsman on it) and try to move the axe head. Overall, this vintage Craftsman axe is in good solid condition.
