The sole has been flattened using a granite slab. The cheeks have also been cleaned and buffed. The handles look good and feel great in the hand.
The blade has been sharpened using a Sorby pro edge machine set at 25 degrees. It's been sharpened to 3,000 grit using a 3M trizac belt and then honed on a leather strop so it's razor sharpe. This old plane takes fantastic shavings, as shown in the photos out of a piece of red oak, and leaves behind a super smooth finish. It's all original sort from the mentioned fresh paint and new handles and knob. It's a very solid plane, no cracks or damage.
All parts are shown clearly in the photos so you can see for yourselves that this is the case. It is good to work straight away.
