Vtg Rare German Forged David Dominicus Woodworking Carpenter Axe Hatchet Head #1
First of all such David Dominicus axe head in such well preserved condittion is rare, difficult to find and not so, frequently met in entire internet space. David Dominicus with its European model felling axes have a very thin, slightly springy blade for maximum cutting efficiency. The blade is hardened almost all the way back to the eye, so with careful resharpening the tool will deliver a lifetime of excellent service. The markings are clear and well readable. There are two letters (FS) grinded , probably the initials of the previous owner which are pictured close up and detailed. I think they can be easily removed. The axe head probably is produced between 1955 - 1965 year. The axe needs fine sharpening and honig! Dimensions: The blade of the axe is 12,5cm (4.9) long.
Axe head is 18,5cm (7.3) wide. Total weight of the axe is 1,2 kg (2.65Lbrs).
