This is the Deal of a Lifetime. If you are a serious woodworker, you know that the router isa key piece of equipment in your shop. It can cut all kinds of profiles, flush-cut surfaces for a perfect fit, create exotic joints, like the lock-miter joint, make an exact copy of a profile, and lots more.

This is the chance of a lifetime to get this set up because the Porter Cable components were made in the USA (one router was made in Mexico) before they moved their production to China. I used this router setup to make the highboy (pictured) along with many other projects. I always hated having to stop everything to install the router in the router table or to take it out for hand operations. Both are Porter Cable #890 2 ΒΌ HP, 12-amp, heavy duty routers with variable speeds (10,000 to 23,000rpm) and the soft start feature. There are three different router bases.

A J-handle base with dust collection through the handle. A Fixed router base with rod for repeated cuts at the samedepth. All of the routers fit all of the bases. I usually kept one router installed in the router table and used the other one for hand operations. A handheld router is fine for certain operations, but larger bits and more complex profiles require a router table. It's the only safe way to use large router bits. This router table is made by Porter cable and both routers fit perfectly into it.

If you want to have your router follow a profile or a design of your own precisely, router guides are just the right thing. These brass guides fit into the hole in abase plate. They come in different sizes so you can use different size bits. Included is a complete set.

I have included 47 router bits in this package. Everything from small bits for fine detail work to large (and expensive) 1/2-inch special purpose bits. I won't list all of the small ones, but here are the half inch bits in this package. Freud seven-piece rabbiting bit with bearings. Eagle French provincial profile bit. Lee Valley table edge bit. Lee Valley 1/2-inch Cove bit. Lee Valley vertical bead panel raising bit.
